Hello, my lovely readers!

Today, I want to talk to you about something that affects all of us—the fear of speaking spontaneously.

Yes, I know. That moment when someone suddenly says,“Okay, now you speak!”And your mind just... goes blank.

You feel your heartbeat rising, your palms sweating, and your tongue feels like it’s stuck.

I’ve been there too.

In fact, in my early days, despite knowing what I wanted to say, I often struggled when I was put on the spot. The pressure of instant response used to paralyze me. But over the years, I discovered something amazing:

You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be prepared—to think fast and speak smart.

And that’s exactly what I shared in my latest podcast episode of “Socho Tez, Bolo Samajhdari Se!”

🌟 Why do we freeze when asked to speak suddenly?

Because we aren’t trained for spontaneous communication. We prepare for speeches, we rehearse presentations—but we forget that real life doesn’t give us scripts.

Whether it's:

  • A team meeting where your boss asks for your input,

  • A family gathering where you’re asked to speak a few words,

  • Or a networking event where someone says, “Tell me about yourself.”

In such moments, you don’t get time to think—you must respond, reflect, and speak, all at once.

💡 3 Simple Techniques That Helped Me Speak Smart

Let me share the same tools I use in my training programs and daily life:

1. Pause Before You Speak

A 2-second pause is magical. It gives your brain a moment to organize your thoughts. And trust me—it also makes you sound more confident.

2. Keep Your Language Simple

You don’t need complex words.Speak the way you’d talk to a friend.Clarity always wins over vocabulary.

3. Add a Real-Life Example

If you want people to remember your words—attach them to a story, a personal experience, or even a simple analogy.Stories make you human. And humans connect through stories.

🎯 Bonus Formula: PREP

If you’re stuck in the moment, just remember this:

P – Point (Start with your main point)R – Reason (Why is it important?)E – Example (Share a story or data)P – Point again (Reinforce your message)

This formula helped one of my lawyer clients feel more confident during courtroom discussions—and I’ve seen it work like magic in corporate interviews too.

✅ Your Action Step Today

Try this right now—Record a 30-second introduction about yourself using the PREP formula.

Don’t overthink it. Just speak. Then listen to your recording.

You’ll notice two things:

  1. You sound better than you think.

  2. You’re already improving!

🎙️ Coming Up Next…

In the next episode of my podcast, we’ll dive deep into a topic many people avoid—“Stage Fear – Why We Get Nervous and How to Overcome It.”

Until then, remember:

The more you speak, the more confident you become.Don’t wait to be perfect—just start expressing.

With love and belief in you,– Coach Rashmi
